Sample: Hello:
I am Reverend Bob Turner. I recently preached at True Hope Baptist Church in St. Louis, MO. It was Youth Sunday. I used the Lectionary text for Youth Sunday from 2008, Jeremiah 1:4-10. My subject was "What Can a Boy or Girl Do? In the middle of the sermon I used the cultural resource material in which one of the commentators said, "...hip-hop music can send mixed messages. I suggested ways that good hip-hop music can send great messages though not in the language that adults are used to. I used the Kirk Franklin song, "Imagine Me" to conclude. The service was off the hook. Five kids gave their life to Christ and about 25 kids came to the altar for prayer. The Lectionary helped my sermon stay focused and made my message deeper. Thanks for letting me share. -- Bob

Dear Lectionary: the Dialogue Corner is such a blessing. I really enjoyed reading Anthony B. Pinn's article. I look forward to reading more. May you be blessed for the new year and years to come.

I am the chaplain in a not-for-profit long-term care community. I just wanted to thank you for allowing me to download an image of Ash Wednesday so that I can use the image on a flyer I will design informing our residents of an Ash Wednesday service. We don't have much of a budget and the lectionary has just been invaluable. Thank you for your kindness.

Well, what a surprise! I accidentally found you on the web from a Google search while looking for a sermon. Can you please add me to your email list? I see you have a Facebook page and are also on Youtube. Years ago I had received one of the African American Pulpit journals at Hampton. This lectionary is just phenomenal because I can enlarge the print 100% internet with downloadable resource PDF sermons, songs, files, videos, graphics, all organized perfectly. I commend you all on what you have accomplished. I'm glad I was able to hook up with you again.
Blessings.

I discovered this website as a result of a Google search on the history of homecoming services. I've been asked to serve as the guest speaker for my church's Homecoming/60th Anniversary and I want to make sure I'm well prepared for the occasion. I just LOVE the resources available on this site, and plan to use them not only as I prepare my remarks for the September Homecoming service, but throughout the year as our church celebrates many of the traditions found on this site. God bless you for your efforts in documenting and sharing our collective worship experiences!

Thank God for this site. I have been a member of a different lectionary site for some time and my main lament is that the resources leave out the African American faith tradition perspective. Thank you for your excellence.

I came across this page of your website "Big Idea" http://www.theafricanamericanlectionary.org/bigideaNov09.asp as a resource for substance abuse treatment information. I work at a treatment center called Treatment4Addiction. Your website provides invaluable information through articles, videos and Facebook.
