Invocation
(a) Invocation. Based on Psalm 85:1-2, 8-13
Invocation
Loving God, as we step into this worship service, reveal to us what is righteous and good.
We invite you, O God, to give us your love and your peace on this struggling journey.
O God, our comforter, we invite you to help us in seeking lives.
Come, now, and fill our sanctuaries and your sacred temples.
Lord, as we gather we acknowledge your power.
God of comfort, we willingly welcome you into this place.

God Is Great! |
|
Leader: | What a great God we serve! He is our Sustainer, our Healer, our Deliverer, our Provider, our Rock, our Refuge, our Comforter, and our Strength. Stand up ye people of God! Let us lift our voices together and say: |
Congregation: |
God is great! |
Leader: | Our God is great! Greater than any disease or illness. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me. Bless His holy name. Whatever our lot, it is well with our souls. We shall remember all your benefits towards us. We shall wait upon you. For you have promised to renew our strength and redeem our souls. We come today to say: |
Congregation: | God is great! |
Leader: | Our God is great! Greater than depression and despair thatcan come in the midnight hour. You are the lifter of our heads. Your word is true. Your promises are sure. For none that trust in you shall be desolate. |
ALL: | Today we rejoice, O Lord, for as high as the heavens are from
the earth, so great is your mercy and your grace towards us.
We shout in victory! For our God is great! And greatly to be praised! |
