Worship Planning Notes
In today’s world there is a need for healing. Many people suffer from emotional distress, grief, divorce, and physical ailments. It is important to continue to include healing services within the life of the church. People come to church expecting a breakthrough that will release them from their ailments. With this hunger and desire, you have the charge to lead worshipers to a God who can handle all of their infirmities and bear their diseases.
The planning for this moment can be profound yet simple. The plan below is a foundation for you to build upon. You may want to add more steps after you hear and record the testimonies of those worshipers who were healed.
- Create a half sheet prayer form. Ask worshipers what is their request for healing. At the conclusion of the form state: “When you receive the manifestation of your healing, please contact [fill in the name of the applicable group or person at your church] with your testimony.”
- Put an announcement about the prayer forms in your bulletin and mention it using social media.
- Pass out the forms 2 weeks before the service.
- Gather the forms 1 week before the service. Place them on the altar of the sanctuary and ask the intercessors of your church to pray unceasingly until the day of the healing service.
- Assemble an Intercessor Team that will be able to intercede during the actual healing service. Unless the entire service is used just for prayer and anointing, have an ideal place in your church where people can go for special prayers while worship is going on in the main sanctuary.
- Assemble an Intercessors Team that will be able to receive the testimonies of the worshipers after the actual day of the service.
