Worship Planning Notes
Stewardship of that which God has given so that we can leave a Godly inheritance for our
children is the focus of Revival I. Worshippers should be encouraged to take personal
responsibility through sound financial planning and spending, and by being examples of
Christians who are faithful to the Word of God, so that we exemplify for our children
how to be better stewards of all with which God entrusts them. A good man leaves an
inheritance to his grandchildren, but the sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.
Suggestions for Worship to Make Today’s Focus Come Alive
- Select a couple of persons in the congregation and have them give brief presentations on the theme “Leaving a Godly Inheritance for our Children.”
- Have a photographer or persons within your church who are able to create digital web images to provide pictures that bring the theme to life. Place the pictures throughout the church during revival season. Images could include parents presenting Bibles to children, parents praying with children, parents giving children a piggy bank and a savings passbook to teach them financial literacy, etc.

Call to Worship/Litany
Proverbs 13:18-22
Reader: | Poverty and disgrace [come to] those who ignore instruction, |
People: | but the one who accepts rebuke will be honored. |
Reader: | Desire fulfilled is sweet to the taste, |
People: | but fools hate to turn from evil. |
Reader: | The one who walks with the wise will become wise, |
People: | but a companion of fools will suffer harm. |
Reader: | Disaster pursues sinners, but good rewards the righteous. |
All: | A good man leaves an inheritance to his grandchildren, but the sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous. |
Centering Prayer
O God, the earth is yours, and you have allowed us to experience its fullness. Thank you for each moment we enjoy your creation. Make us better stewards of our resources, recognizing that the decisions we make today shape the lives of our children tomorrow. Empower us as a community to be about the business of economic development, building our families, our church, and our community. In your name we pray and claim it as done. Amen.
